Elto Lightwin year ?

Can anyone identify what year Elto this is ?

Looking in my book, serial numbers from 6500 to 12000
make it a 1923. I believe its the first year for this model.

I can’t under stand why the people that feel
these things are worth hang on to for
decades don’t keep them in a dry place. If you
can save the gas tank, the lower unit
doesn’t have water in it, and it isn’t stuck,
its still a ton of work to bring it back. Most
of that effort wouldn’t be necessary if the
motor had just been kept in a better place.
IMO its the most desirable of the Rudder
Twins. Best of luck with that one Sam.

I found this in a guys shed . No telling how long it was there . I bought it with 18 other motors as a package deal . He said when he stored them he took the plugs out and squirted oil in the cylinders and would spin them every now and then .All of them are free spinning except one motor .

I sure hope I can bring it back to life .
These were run with a 6v battery right ?

6 volts is correct. There is a sealed 6 volt battery
that is used for emergency lighting that many use.
