I ran across an Elto Lightweight? yesterday…interesting outboard and may be all there, but needs a second look. The flywheel looks rather thin though…is this a battery ignition outboard? Or magneto? Looks to be from the 30’s? Prop was small, so I’m guessing it’s less than 7 hp anyway. I’ve heard of the Lightwins, but not Lightweights…any opinions to share from the more experienced? Would appreciate it.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Still considering it actually…the battery ignition is new to me. Is there points, condensor, etc. under the flywheel, and how hard is it to bring back to life if any of those parts are missing? Does it have a carb, or mixing valve arrangement like my old Johnson KD-15? Thanks in advance.
