Elto pal question

• Hello all. First time post  long time antique outboard fan and member. I recently acquired this old outboard.  When I got it (fall carlisle) it was covered in grease and dirt.  After giving it a good cleaning I see the gas tank which appears to be original says evinrude  not elto pal. I have never seen that  before . Any insight i would much appreciate i would like to keep the engine as original as possible get it blowing some blue smoke again!

Its obviously been on there a long time but its
not original. It would have come with this blue
and orange one originally.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Thank you for the reply! I was thinking the same thing but wanted to confirm before I removed it and applied some reproduction decals.
