II am a noice when it comes to restoring outboard engines. Finally putting this motor back together. I’m stripped the whole engine apart including the piston and ring. This is the original piston lock ring reinstalled. It looks a little suspect but this is how it was when I originally took it apart. Is it okay like this?

I’ve been busy with college the last few years and finally got some more time to work on projects again.

Its hard to tell from your picture with the
pistons in the cylinder but the wrist-pin
retainer need to be seated, all the way
around, in the grove of the piston.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
