I took my hollow rudder Elto out on the lake on a jack plate. It ran great for 100 yards then slowed to a stop. Cylinders were very warm so I shut off the fuel and rowed back. After it was loaded onto trailer it started fine. What depth would be best for cooling? Prop level with boat bottom? Jack plate can be moved up.

You must go to full speed after the
motor starts to get the water to start
circulating. If there are any leaks in the
system water wont circulate. Check to
see that all the fittings are tight and that
none of solder joints have failed. Did you
notice if water was coming out of the coiled
        tubes when it was running?

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

When I bent over the stern the coils went under water. Mostly I sat in the middle seat and steered with the rope. I’ll remember to run it fast at first to start the siphon next time. Meanwhile I’ll check for leaks. Thanks Tubs.
