My uncle is 80 something now.  His family is going to need to dispose of his collection.  His garage, porch and house are all 85% full of OBM stuff.

Then hundreds of uppers, lowers and thousands of cranks, pistons, gears etc.  They are all trash bound and uncle just doesn’t know it.

Is there a good, simple way to dispose of them besides calling the local scrap yard that doesn’t involve an estate sale?

It would be calamitous see them in the land fill but that is the most likely outcome at this point.  My brother has been bestowed the honor of

disposal as if it were a great gift worth a king’s ransom!   It’s a great burden to any non-collector.

Is there anyone who may offer him a cash and carry deal while he is still alive?  That would be the best possible outcome for motors and people!

This isn’t my problem yet so I will forget to check for replies.  Thus, you get my email.  It will also be on photo if it attached.

Well, I would definitely get divorced if I said I’d take it; but just out of curiosity, where is this stuff located?

      Long live American manufacturing!

If an estate sale is not an option because nobody wants a bunch of people on the property, some estate companies offer an offsite option at a small venue. Also, depending on your location (climate) flee markets are good, if motors are priced to sell, not make the seller rich.

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.

With an approximate location we can tell you how to contact a local AOMCI chapter. With a few representative pictures you can get advice on how to present the collection to  buyers.
