Hello all, I’m helping a friend with a 1969 Evindude 9.5 model 9922S, that is the motor with the low profile enclosure shroud. I see that the powerhead is rubber mounted for isolation but geez there seems like an excessive amount of free movement. I can move the powerhead about 3/4 ” fore and aft with in the shroud before I encounter hard stops. Does that seem right? My first-time encounter with this model, so I have no point of reference.

      Thanks,

      Joe B

I believe these motors are well known for their rubber mount failures.
I see yours has the vibration dampers as well as the rubber mounts.
I believe OMC added these dampers as the earlier models had
        lots of “shaking” problems.

I went through one in the past, and there should be a thread on it
in “Current Projects”, showing all the rubber mounts, etc.

Thank Bucc, yes this has a sliding damper on the starboard side of the powerhead. I’ll look for your posting

3/4 fore and aft is a broken upper front motor mount. l’ve replaced lots of them back in the day.

Thanks Frank. So now I have to figure out how to get to this motor mount. I suspect that I have to open up the entire “clam shell” housing. See what other complications that involves. My first time with the low profile motor, learning!  Any info on a part number would be helpful.
