I’m working on a half horse Evinrude Cub.  I don’t see an easy way to remove the flywheel (I need to troubleshoot the ignition).  I have two pullers.  One uses threaded holes the other grips the edge of the wheel.  Neither will work with this design.  I have the crank nut off.  Any hints?

You need to make up a flywheel popper.
Basically a nut that screws onto the crankshaft with
a bolt on the top of the nut. Some people weld up
a double nut, but I got by on this motor with a single
nut, threaded half way onto the crank and bolt, the
        snugged up good.

Then lift the motor by the flywheel while someone smacked
the bolt with a hammer. I was all alone, so I got by lifting
the motor by the flywheel with a clamp.
You want to lift the flywheel before you smack it to avoid
damage to the insides of the motor.

Loosing the flywheel nut and taping on it
while lifting up on the flywheel may get it off
if its not too tight. If not you want to use this
method. It is very easy to damage the
end of the crankshaft on these. This method
will prevent that if done properly. The nuts are
small so just jamming two together probably
wont work. You may need to weld them together.
After each strike with the hammer you want to
check that the tool is still tight.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
