      If the pistons are badly damaged and the block is still good, any piston from a ’54 5.5 up to a ’79 six horse can be used. The only difference is the number of rings on them.

        Update on the motor; After 3 weeks of soaking with transmission fluid, the pistons moved within a minute of trying to turn the fly wheel! Just ordered new gaskets and going to start to re-assemble the motor soon. Thanks for all the advice

            did you ever open up the cyl head to check cyl walls ?? if you remove the reeds maybe you can peek inside to look at the innards with a small camera…

            up to you but if innards don’t show rust I would close it up see if it runs a…..my 9.5 ran great with “freed up” stuck pistons
