I don’t have, nor am in the market for a 40’s era Mate. My question is, "How many people would sell their Mates and how many are looking for Mates? Just curious as to the supply and demand situation. Thanks,
GaryMarch 26, 2018 at 3:05 pm #73062And now a second question. I am
a full member yet my name color does not indicate that. Who do I connect now to fix this?
Just answered this question. Sorry 🙂March 26, 2018 at 3:11 pm #73063My son has a Cub, so having a Mate would be a nice thing. I would like to get one someday, but am in no hurry. The Cub is original, and runs very nicely.

March 26, 2018 at 9:54 pm #73084Are we talking about the 1940s version or the 1960s version?
I have a 1968 Evinrude Mate that a friend gave me and I love this little motor. You can lift it over your head with one hand. It’s only 20 pounds! Not ready to give it up anytime soon.

40’s version. Sorry, I’m always thinking antique.March 27, 2018 at 4:34 pm #73118quote ggoldy:I don’t have, nor am in the market for a 40’s era Mate. GaryPretty good supply. Even larger demand.
Parts are difficult to get because most
that have an incomplete motor are looking
for the parts they need and don’t want to
part out their motor. I had one a
a show and a fellow asked me what I
thought they were worth. I said it is
difficult to say. I’ve seen nice complete
motors sell for $500.00 and $600.00 but
its not that uncommon to see them sell
for as much as $900.00 and sometimes
even more. He says to me-
"Will you sell yours for $900.00?"
I still have it. I would have made a nice
profit but I’d rather have the motor.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Evinrude-1-2-H … SW&vxp=mtr

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
