I inherited this motor and finally found time to work on it. Initially there was no spark. I replaced the plug wires which were old with cracked insulation and I replaced the condensers. I Also cleaned and adjusted the points and it started right up and ran beautifully.
the next time I tried to start it, there was no spark at any of the 4 cylinders. I’ve tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot the problem without success. Plug wires and condensers seem to test ok with an ohm meter. Points look fine. It seems unlikely that both coils could have failed simultaneously.
any suggestions much appreciated.
