      <!–more–>This Power Pilot controls a 1976 85 hp Evinrude (too big, but it came with the boat).  Momentary choke toggle switch below start key. What is the knob on the front of the control case? Tach plug cover? Adjuster for something inside case?

        That is the throttle friction adjustment.  Turn it in/clockwise and the throttle will hold its position better without having to hold your hand on the throttle lever.
