September 11, 2016 at 3:29 am #43780Wannabe,
That motor would look awesome hanging off the back of a Glastron Carlson. Id liie to see pics if you get the motor. More pics of it on the Glastron one its rigged. And that semicircular corrugated steel building is known as a Quonset Hut. 😉

September 18, 2016 at 12:22 pm #44217Well guys, the strangler deal fell apart. The motor was part of an estate being divided up between 3 family members. The person I was dealing with was ready to sell the motor to me for $400. His Brother in Law stepped in and said he consulted an "expert" in outboard motor values 🙄 and the "expert" told him it was worth at least $2000, and I was a craigs list "scammer" trying to rip off the family. The thing is, the motor was not in great condition and needed a total rehab and he set the price… not me. When I asked who his ‘Expert" was, it turns out he’s some 20 something kid that works as a motorcycle mechanic. So I told him good luck and went on my way. I was told the motor should be showing up on Ebay soon for $2000.
Happy bidding all!September 18, 2016 at 4:09 pm #44234I’m sorry to hear the deal fell apart. You got your hopes dashed, that hurts. I’ve been checking those motors out on the internet. Keep you eyes open ,they are out there….somewhere

Robbie RobertsonSeptember 18, 2016 at 4:20 pm #44235Since the regular Stranglers are mainly paint/graphics, it may be easier and cheaper to make a clone, with subtle changes to denote clone status.
If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.
September 18, 2016 at 4:49 pm #44238Too bad the deal fell thru. I hate it when that happens. Wasn’t meant to be so there must be something better out there for you.

September 18, 2016 at 4:59 pm #44241Anyone in our club have any version of these? I’m sure our members would like to see a video of a under the hood tour and run

Robbie RobertsonSeptember 18, 2016 at 5:03 pm #44244Ehh..life goes on. If the Guy gets $2000 for it perhaps it will help the family deal with the loss of their Father. I have a Johnson 135 in better condition I bought for $250. $2000 was just not even realistic.
September 18, 2016 at 5:38 pm #44251Too bad would have been a great project!
While 400 was a fantastic price, that any of us would have jumped on, 2k is the complete other end of spectrum, and not realistic for that vintage as you say. Should have told them to have the guy that made the evaluation pony up the money!
September 18, 2016 at 9:41 pm #44265Isn’t this always the way, good for you not caving to desires and paying a silly price. Keep your eye on ebay, maybe they will give up and the price will come back down after no luck with sale.
