Question: what kind of packing was/is used for the low (and high) speed needle. Zephyr runs good at higher rpms but stalls out when attempting to run at lower rpm. Just rebuild carb and coated float. Used new style packing for high speed needle. Slow speed needle very loose and won’t hold adjustment seating. Bet it’s sucking air. If I can fix this, I’m motorboating
    with a Zephyr! Thanks!

Early Zephyrs used the same packing as the high speed needle. Later models used an adaptor and a smaller needle. . . 😀

The 202071 low speed needle valve packing is no longer available. Some use a small "O" ring – some use a wrap of teflon tape. . . 😉

I used a few wraps of dental floss in mine and they are working just fine.
