I got to working on a 1946 Evinrude Zephyr, and a good portion of that work was cleaning and prepping for new paint. As I took the muffler assembly apart, instead of finding a gasket, I found a red paste. It almost looked like red Loctite on the screws, but upon taking it apart I found that red paste around the seams of the muffler and exhaust housing in the place of a gasket. To my knowledge, the motor has not been apart in its life. Does anyone know what this is and what I can use to replace it and keep the parts seale
