i took this rewind apart last fall. it was a little confusing then and VERY confusing now. I know, I shouldn’t have done it before winter and the brain freeze and all. the model is 133-7-477. peter hunn’s book says this 477 designates it as a rewind starter model.
anyway, not sure if this rewind was from a lawn mower or what. it is made by Fairbanks-morse. here are a few pics of the parts I have. it looks like the 3 holes where a rope sheave would bolt on are not being used with the recoil. did this model originally come with a rope sheave? if so, does anyone have one they’d like to sell?
I’d appreciate any advice you can give on this motor. also if anybody has a picture of their firestone with a similar or factory rewind, I’d love to see it. and does anybody have a parts catalog for this model? a diagram of what goes where, etc?
thanks!

what your rewind should look like herehttp://www.yankeeaomci.org/private_brands.htm
the 46 47 Firestones were silver. Scroll over the page above and you will see a 1948 which was green
March 22, 2015 at 4:10 pm #12534FrankR’s post is for an early Scott rewind not a Firestone. They were different.
Here is a better picture of what the Firestone looks like.
The later Scott and Firestone 3.6 hps were the same.http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-scott-w … 94&vxp=mtr

Oh??? I thought they were the same except possibly a different housing. Not???
March 22, 2015 at 9:18 pm #12571As far as I know they are the same except for the housing. The Firestone version is faired into the shape of the back of the tank.
