My AlumaCraft is looking more like a boat now. I have to correct that
it’s an AL model, not a FL. Forgot that Alumacraft didn’t have a brochure
for an AL, but sent me one for a FL….. can’t remember what they said
the differences were. The aluminum is several shades lighter, but my
shoulders said "enough", so it won’t be a shiny show boat! The floor is
repainted, new seats and inner transom board installed. I may add
floatation below the seat I made into storage compartment. Still have
to find hasp or other means to keep the lid from bouncing in the waves.
Hopefully I can actually "boat" test a few outboards soon!

The AL is basically a model A with wooden seats to save weight and cost (similar to the FL is an F with wooden seats). The model A is basically a narrower model F. I like the wooden seats in my FL, much cooler than aluminum seats on a sunny day.

Westwind, thanks for the AlumaCraft lesson. I like the wood seats…
just seem more nostalgic. After a half hour’s ride on the wood bench
seats, I’ll probably be nostalgic for my 18′ AlumaCraft
that I sold a couple of years ago, that had soft, cushy pedestal seats!!
