      Hi Frank! I wwas reading one of your old posts last night and you mentioned a “Plan B” when the Neutral Cable on a JohnsonTD was frayed. Apparently “Plan B” would allow the service of the impeller without pulling the cable down. What is “Plan B”? No one asked you in that old 2015 post…..

        Heh, lesse if I can remember. Basically, plan B modifies step 6 listed earlier. Modification is remove the four screws # 9 which are holding the pump and bearing housing to the 1/4″ plate, then (leaving the pump assy in place) pull the 1/4″ plate down just far enough to clear the bottom of the drive shaft and swing the plate out of the way and let it dangle without pulling the frayed cable down. The pump is now accessible in place.

        Sorry about the Gale picture. Same TN Johnson lower unit with a couple of changes to make it fit the Gale.
