      Hello,

Doing a restoration on a very tired OK55, in dreadful condition. Nice winter project. Besides the fuel tank being dented, cracked, rusted through here and there I still decided it would be a good winter project. Everything else I’ve worked on has been from the 40’s and 50’s. Parts don’t seem to be very available for an engine this old. Thanks in advance for any help I receive.

Your depression era built OK 55 has a round gas tank on it and may be hard to find if you can’t save it. The smaller OA 55 also had a round tank instead of the more common aluminum horseshoe shaped tanks. The OK series of motors were built from 1930 and the post war OK 10, 15, and 20 motors were built in Canada only. They were known as ‘Eskimo Motors’ for their toughness and reliability in the Great White North.

They all have a 2 3/8" bore with a 2 1/4" stroke and didn’t change too much except for water pump design and the later ones having removable cylinder heads. What kind of parts are you looking for as some parts interchange between models?

Here’s some before and after pics of a OK 55 I found on the web.
