What are the inside diameters for the two common fuel lines used in small OMC’s? There’s the one from the tank to the pump, then the smaller one from the pump to the carb.

Any recommendations on good places to buy in bulk rolls (say 50′ lengths). Go through this stuff like crazy but the local automotive store charges an arm and a leg per foot, even in the rolls.

I saw some stuff on ebay that was clear PVC for $30.00. But rather hear what folks have used with good success and resistance to the fuels of today.

      Thanks

The actual OD that BRP sells is 5/32". Most guys use 3/16" to replace. I buy 3/16" by the 100′ roll as its what I use the most. The only downfall, is that SOME manufacturers of the 3/16" line, make it a bit too big for the original fuel clamps. Also, some of them are a bit too big to fit through the holes in the lower cowl. I have found a certain brand, with a bit thinner side wall, that almost matches the 5/32" perfectly.

Other common sizes are 1/4" for the Big Twins that I buy in bulk.

Whatever you use, make sure it is rated for fuel. Most clear tubing isn’t and it will fail.

I have been buying my fuel line from a local motorcycle and snowmobile dealer in my area. It’s not clear, but has a slight blue tint to it. I have been very happy with it so far. No failures at all. I like being able to see what is, or is not going through the lines. I have been using small zip ties for clamps. A 10′ length of 3/16" runs me about $12. I have found the same issue as you at my local auto supply places. All the bulk line they sell now is rated for fuel injector pressure lines and is like $3.89 a foot!

$.69 a foot here in WA State., Cost Less Auto Parts. Eth resistant and everything. Then they do have the fuel injector stuff for a lot more $…
