I’m in the process of dismantling a Sears Gamefisher 9.9hp (Model# 225.587991) to either give away or sell the parts. This motor is very foreign to me as I have only worked on 50’s and 60’s OMC motors for many years. I have an ad on webvertize right now to give away any parts someone might need.
My question: how the heck do you remove the coils from the mag-plate? They appear to be held by two pins which pass through the coil and plate. I see no screw or bolt heads and can see no way to remove these coils from the pins.
      Thanks,
      Drifter

They are riveted, you don’t remove laminate. You bend tab down and remove coil. Replacement coils were coils without laminates. Some engineer finally came along and said why are we replacing laminates with coils…Just replace coils.
