I have two common 6 gallon plastic Chilton fuel tanks that probably date to the 1980s or 1990s. Both have broken gas caps that have a gauge in them.
Where can I get replacement caps at a reasonable price? If possible, I’d like these caps to have a closable vent screw on top like the factory tank that came with my 2004 25 HP Yamaha. I can live without the vent screw if these aren’t out there. The original caps didn’t have a closable vent.
At Home Depot, I found a couple caps without gauges meant for garden tractors that fit but these have a small vent hole in the center that a small amount of gas comes out of when the tank is near full and you bounce over waves.
