Gear lube flush on ‘57 Mark 25 Merc

Is there a recommended interval and method to change the lower unit gear case grease on a 1957 Merc Mark 25? I took the lower unit apart to replace seals and packed it with lubriplate 105 but would rather not take the shaft out again just to change the grease. The lower plug is titled “fill and flush” and i am just wondering how they were flushed. Thanks.

I put new 105 in after every run.  The fill plug is at the bottom of the gear case and the over flow small screw is at the top. I think the fill and flush is for flushing the motor with water if it was used in salt water.
