May I share the best Christmas Gift I received this year?  Went out for breakfast at the local eatery yesterday.  There was a waiting line, with an overflow seated on benches outside.  As I hobbled forward on my walker, a young girl jumped up and opened and held the door for me.  As I passed through, she gave me a big smile from her mouth full of braces.  Somebody had taught that child to honor and respect her elders.  It cost her nothing, but it made my day.  There is still hope for us all.

Great story, and agreed! Glad to hear her parents/mentors taught her well. There IS hope for the future.

Thanks for sharing your story Frank, very heartening. I could well imagine how it made your day.  I suspect that girl came from a very caring family. Hopefully some other young folk will have been inspired by the gesture. Wishing you  a lovely Christmas Day.
