I bet this topic has come up before although I am un-able to locate the thread.

There are a lot of the popular impellers available from the Orient. What has been your experience with them? Perhaps Sierra quality and derivation in different packaging or are these different?

What’s especially nice is that they offer free shipping on a $5.00 item. Unheard of and very handy. Takes a while but it’s winter afterall…. 🙂

Of course; no one wants to risk a good motor with a cheap impeller; if in fact that is what these actually are. Or; maybe they are the same as what we typically pay more for….. packaged as Sierra and/or some other house-brand?

heehee my best motors don’t have impellers, if the pistons wear out I just make a new one, the others are pressure-vacuum cooling (no moving parts), there’s no Beijing bling in my outboards!

Oh these are definitly "Cheap" impellers! The question is do they have any quality to them? Are the hubs bonded properly? Are the dimensions correct? Time will tell if anyone is bold enough to buy them. With the problems experienced with Sierra impellers I dont think Im will be buying "Cheap" impellers. Like buying Sierra ignition components? Just my two cents.
Read the guy’s ratings. He is not a big seller and already off to a poor showing.

I have. I will use them on motors where you have to adapt an impeller to work. At $5.00, it is cheaper to experiment with these first. If i know that i will be running it often on a boat instead of occasionaly in a barrel, then i will replace with a known brand impeller.

Huh? The guy selling the OMC ones gets a 99.5% Positive….and the other one gets 98.6%. Not bad considering that the few people who did complain weren’t talking about impellers anyway….and were largely complaining about shipping time (It can take a while….)

As for their volume…there are quite a few Oriental vendors on the bay selling impellers; I just picked a couple at random. Lots more to choose from.

John C I can’t blame you there! I wasn’t thinking about making your own impeller out of an existing impeller, but all of that work goes out the window if the quality of the impeller is no good to begin with? Just something to think about. In most cases we are only talking about a few dollars more for a brand name impeller. Most of the cost comes from buying it at a dealer who rips you off at retail plus. Shop around for the best deal on OEM impellers.
Seakaye the Ebay rating is given to show patterns of how sellers treat buyers. It rarely has anything to do with which product the seller is selling? If they will screw you on one item they will screw you on anything. Also notice that the first guy your listed is cr-deal world. The next one is cb-auto parts. The one I happened to pick out was cr-love deal. That seems a little to close in names to be a coincidence. Two are from the same area & the other from Hong Kong.
My main point is: Think about what you are buying. An impeller for $5 – $6 dollars with "Free Shipping" from across the world. Did your mother ever tell you "If something seems too good to be true, it probably is".

While out shopping this afternoon, about the only thing I could find that wasn’t from China was this BBQ Sauce. Lead free to!

Definitely tempting but "Cheap is as cheap does", paraphrasing Forrest Gump.
I wouldn’t buy them, plus they get your credit card and that could be dangerous with all the hacking going on even using Paypal.

Why would anybody even have a credit card if they are afraid to use it? Every time you use it, somebody gets the number. Well maybe except for the new chip cards. I use mine for almost every significant thing I buy and have only been hacked once. And it didn’t cost me anything because the credit card company eats the loss.

I have a CC and not afraid to use it everything but in this case not for China. Great to keep track of all expenses with the CC bill and get 2 x points. Yes I have had trouble a time or two and got reimbursed but cautious about China and other such places.
