Instead of inviting one single person, invite the community, the public. Advertise locally and on line. Local newspapers
( are there any left ? ) are cryin’ for content like this. Hold the meet on public property. Turn the meet into a show. Have a good mechanic on hand with tools. Make a presence at car shows, boat shows, boat races, RV shows, fishing tournaments, anything related to outdoors. Promote our website.
Make all this the responsibility of the chapter presidents. We don’t need another “officer” / more bureaucracy. Revive the Newsletter as an e-newsletter and post monthly. Give away free 6-month memberships with a monthly email newsletter. It will give the prospective members a connection and some sense of who we are. Pay a new member’s dues. Put your money where…….oh never mind.
