If so, here’s something I found about the new fuel lines which may be causing the problem.

November 13, 2016 at 7:15 pm #47396thanks for the link mumbles, the photos really help understand the problem.

Long live American manufacturing!
November 13, 2016 at 10:30 pm #47412November 13, 2016 at 11:28 pm #47415I’ve replaced a truck load of those as well. The only good fuel line I’ve found is OEM, either Mercury or BRP.
Here’s a carb bowl off of a Merc 4 stroke. It was running the same fuel line as the one in David’s picture above. The inner liner melted and ended up in the carb bowl.
I agree with Bill, the new environmentally safe fuel lines, primer bulbs and lined fuel tanks are creating a lot of problems. Don’t forget to buy your $60 anti spray valve to keep from getting showered with gas when you disconnect the fuel line….November 14, 2016 at 3:53 am #47431I just replaced both of my Mercury grey fuel lines as both of them had the inner liner coming out. One was much worse than the other, but both were junk. It about broke my heart to throw away my one Mercury line, as it was so soft an pliable, and the bulb worked so well. I was able to salvage the bulb and the ends, and replaced them with ethanol safe regular automotive fuel line. I kept finding plastic in my fuel filters, darn that makes me mad still!!! 👿 👿 👿
Steve
P.S. If I hadn’t heard of the issue here in previous posts, I wouldn’t have knows where to look, once I investigated the lines, it was obvious that they were failing.
November 14, 2016 at 5:07 am #47433Do the automotive fuel lines have that issue with breakdown or a disintegrating inner liner?
Because I have been making tank to motor fuel lines with the black automotive hoses.
November 14, 2016 at 7:38 am #47436cajuncook1,
I use the black automotive fuel hose as well. I have not experienced any issues with it.
Other may have had different experiences with it.Respectfully
