I’m working on a 1973 (I think) Montgomery Ward 7hp (K700 1106A). It is too nice to toss. I’m trying to identify a part.
This is a neutral clutch outboard. The clutch functions as it should. The problem is in the shift arm. At the end of the arm is a pawl that is pinned to the shift arm shaft. This pawl engages a tab on the clutch to disengage it. The pawl on my outboard is shattered. So, I need to find a p/n and hopefully a photo in case I have to make one.
I appreciate any help with my problem.
      Thanks,

Your K700 Sea King is a Clinton product and not built by Chrysler as most of the Sea Kings were in those years. That should help you narrow your parts search down.

Maybe you’ve seen these? Don’t know if they will help.

I’ve got the owners manual/parts list for that little gem. Unfortunately, after 45 years or so, the drawings are faded some, so the shape of that cam is hard to discern. The part # is 157-477, referred to as a cam – Neutral Clutch.
My only recollection of that part is that it has an offset straight edge, so that when you move the handle, it passes above (or below) the tab on the clutch. I’m pretty sure the Eska/Gamefishers of that era also used that setup..
If you want the manual, send me a PM. Just looking for a buck plus stamps..

They are a "cash" only place, they don’t accept credit cards. If they are not there leave a message, and they do get back to you. tell them what you need, they take your order, then call you back with the price for parts and shipping.
