I had a merc switch laying around what I believe to be from a round furnace wall thermostat.
I made a new bracket out of sheet metal (duct work)
Then crazy glued furnace merc switch to sheet metal bracket
Then also shrink wrapped the merc switch to the new bracket.
Original – what I tried was-
Dremel tool the old merc switch off and gluing the furnace merc switch to the original bracket. I found the bracket is too thick of metal to bend. I needed to be able to bend the bracket so I can adjust the furnace merc switch. I needed to be able to adjust because the furnace merc switch had a different volume of space and different amount of mercury inside. I needed the switch to not be activated when the throttle is past start position on the handle
I’m not sure if I will use it the long run.
Now I have to figure out why the plugs are not wet when trying to start the motor.
