Let me know what you need – I have most of a QD-16 parts motor in a box.

i’m not 100% sure what i may need to get it running? this is my first "antique" outboard motor.
I can see it is missing the twist throttle grip. it connects to what i would call a throttle linkage, but it seems the more i dig into it, it may be called a drive shaft? the first one is there but the rod it connects to via the gear is missing. i’m also on the lookout for a pressurized two line gas tank.
if you don’t mind could you private message me some more info about the parts box you have.
          thanks

Assuming this is in fact a 1955 QD-16, is this a good motor? There are a few things I know I need, but don’t really know where to get them.
Such as, it looks to be missing a cable or rod that the twist throttle attaches to. And the twist handle.
            Thanks all

It is a good motor. The only downside is if there are mega-hours on it, the wrist pin/piston rod interface is known to wear, and newer ones have better rods. Do not skimp on oil in the gas.

For the parts you need, post a free "Wanted" ad on the aomci "classified" board (you don’t have to be a member to use it but I recommend joining anyway for the magazine). Tiller handles (your twist grip throttle) interchange across several HPs and years for your motor. I just put a tiller and the parts it mounts to on a 1958 10 HP Johnson QD-19 that came from a 1960 5 HP – looks a bit different but it works.

I’m also sending you a PM.

Here’s a couple more pages you can print out from the Owner’s Manual.
