      I need some help finding out what hp my engine is: I have a Volvo outboard model MC82853 I think it is an early 70’s engine. The decal says "Volvo Archimedes 90". Have been assuming it was a 10HP. Been running it on a 12 foot alum fishing boat. It runs great, but does not perform like a 10HP engine. Performs more like a 4 or 5 HP engine. I have been unable to find out anything about this engine, tried many different web sites, but no one recognizes the model #. Would appreciate any help.

        the ’90’ points to a ’79 8.5-hp twin. Is it possible you’re running on one cylinder ?
