      Can anything other than copper ignition wires be used on outboards. I have a spool of solid core material. Not sure if it will hold tight in the coil or plug boot either. It is 7mm but not multistrand wire.

        may work but  not recommended … wire is cheap  don’t risk it    rowing is not fun.

          If it’s solid core, I would be concerned that the core wire will fatigue from flexing and break within the insulation. Copper work hardens rather quickly with flexing.
