Thanks for trying guys.
By the way, I have already searched the web before and found none. I have found more Indian Silver Arrows than 1958 Starflite hoods on the web. I have had at least 5 people try to give me Starflites over the years, but they were all junk with all medallions missing and/or cracked.
The toy outboard is absolutely no help since it is not a real motor and is only 6" tall. None of the medallions on the toys are made of the plastic material like the original outboards had. They are only decals. For the record, I own one of the toy outboards too. The good news is that they do not suck the sides in on gas tanks like my original.
Mumbles, your lead only costs $1,000 and the side medallions are almost totally white with no red showing. I am guessing that if there is a medallion on the front pull rope door, it would be a piece of worn cracked plastic. I wish that guy luck in selling his junk Starflite. If he is lucky, I think a scrapyard may give him $50 for the scrap aluminum, and that may be a stretch.
Again, thanks to everyone for the input. I was hoping that someone would surprise me with a 100% like new original outboard on their boat so I could get a photo of the front medallion. If you are going to dream, you should always dream big. Thanks anyway.

July 5, 2016 at 4:25 pm #39636Tom, I’d think the picture from the Evinrude manual would be the ultimate source. It does NOT show a front-mounted medallion, only the sides.
July 5, 2016 at 5:22 pm #39639Tom, could it be that the emblem was from a 35HP? The closest I came after about an hour of Googling was this.

The best restored ones I saw didn’t have anything like what you’re describing.

July 5, 2016 at 7:56 pm #39645You can clearly see where the medallion used to be on the door. Of course it is gone.

If you get me the measurements I should be able to make the file that they’d 3D print it from.
Alternatively, it’s fairly small, you could do the same thing with a 1/8" thick sheet of plywood and a jeweler’s saw.July 5, 2016 at 9:14 pm #39651I don’t have the parts book, but I highly suspect the Lark and Starflite use the same medallion on the front door.
July 6, 2016 at 3:54 am #39681Gentlemen,
You must trust me that in my teens I held the plastic medallion in my hands. I am not so old and senile that I am just making this up. The Lark medallion and the Four-Fifty (the two-tone blue V-4) both have stickers on the front of their pull rope doors. I actually purchased a NOS part for the Lark, and it was a sticker; however, it was so old that I had to put fresh glue on the back. It is still on my 1958 Lark. The 1958 Starflite had five medallions on it . . . . a trapezoid "E" on front of the pull rope door, a rectangular "Four-Fifty" applique on front of the hood below the pull rope door, a long thin applique with the word "Starflite" in it just below that, and two circular red and white medallions on the sides of the hood. The "E" that appears in the side medallions is the same shaped letter "E" that was made for the pull rope door.
Mr. Asa, thanks for your offer. I may take you up on it one day. I believe I could draw the shape of the medallion that I need. I was hoping for a good photo so I could show someone what I wanted to make. I would post a photo of the only shot of the front of my Starflite that shows the "E", but it is black and white and somewhat fuzzy. I am not sure you could see what I have been describing. It does not provide a good three dimensional view of the medallion part.
Once again, I thank all of you for responding to my post. I still hope that some old OMC dealer will see this and post a good shot of the medallion so I can prove that I have not lost my mind. At 62, "Old-Timers" is beginning to creep up on me, but I remember the medallion vividly. Thanks for all the kind comments. Let me know if you see one someday.
