Morning folks, I’m trying to check the impeller before I take it out for a run this morning, just got the other kg7 fired up. Unfortunately the kg7 with the Q lower unit is for a hydroplane, it’s too short for the midget flyer. I’m learning on the fly here.
so now looking for the Qlower unit for runabouts. Any way I’ve taken off the prop and clutch. Do I use a puller to get the last washer off to get at the holes in the impeller plate? I’m making the tool with  the pins that removes  the plate. Then I need to make a puller for the water pump, yeah? I checked tubs videos just showed him installing not removing.

Thanks again for your help, patience and input

The impeller will be just under the cover. If its not stuck to the prop shaft it will come right out. If you don’t know the cover is left handed thread. If its stuck, try tapping around the outside of the cover to free up the threads.

To remove the cartridge you can just stack a bunch of – what ever you have – and using a nut, keep adding till the cartridge is removed. Thank Dave Bernard for this trick.
