      Do you have to pull the head on the 1952 and 1953 evenrude and johnson  25hp motors to unhook shift rod to change the impeller like you do on the e enrude and johnson 5.5 and 7.5 motors. Thankyou in advance for info..

            if you drop the GC an inch  or so you should see the shift link connector inside… loosen the bottom bolt

                the book covers everything you need

                 

                I do not have the picture for your model .. some have side plate you can open up to reach the shift connector .
