Greetings! I have an early 60’s Sears 14.1 that has the double impeller where the top impeller is actually a bilge pump.
Sears McCulloch 14.1 64601410-2458 model 57460150
The usual suspects list no impellers for this so I found two to try that has the same dimensions. (Ordered, and will try it when we return to northern CA – we winter in Baja). This is a keyed slot impeller, but I plan to cut a groove for the pin keepers.
Two questions:
Can I leave out the upper impeller which is for the bilge pump?
Is there a known source for the original impellers with the half inch shaft?
Thanks in advance for any help! JimMarch 1, 2021 at 9:22 am #232568There’s quite a few post on site regarding Scott “bailer” pump impeller retrofits.
I just went through two of the 1956 Scott 7.5 hp bailer motors.
I used a aluminum “hockey puck” looking blank in the one motor
to replace the bailer pump cavity.
Do some searches on the board and see if any of the info helps.
Not sure on if anyone is making your impeller.Prepare to be boarded!

March 3, 2021 at 8:24 am #232734Thanks, Frankr. I was unable to find any further info on this site with the search mode, but it is good to have a backup in case the “similar dimension” impellers I ordered are a bust.

March 26, 2021 at 8:33 pm #235070Follow up: I was able to get an impeller for $7 (Amazon: Impeller 47-F436065-2 18-8903 9-45004 Replacement for Chrysler Force Mercury Marine 9.9HP 15HP ) which has the same half inch shaft diameter. I took a hack saw blade, and carefully cut a groove for the keeper pin (opposite the impeller slot for the key which was not used). I put the old impeller on the second location which runs the sump drain. I fired it up, and it apparently is working. This impeller probably has vanes that are a little long, but with some grease, they did go into the housing. I will drag it down to the beach and go for an extended trial when the wind here in Baja permits. This impeller and three feet of new fuel line has this motor running again after a LONG sit in a local garage. Fortunately, it was fogged and drained before being stored. I am not especially attached to this motor, so if you are trying to get one running, this one is available cheap on the OR/CA line near Yreka.
