      thanks tubs!!

I have been sanding my aluminum starting at 400 grit and working my way up to 1500 before polishing and finding some pretty good results!

Still at it girl? Good for you. Here is a link
to a slideshow of a tank I tried polishing
without using a buffer. There maybe
something in it you can use. I get this
sand paper at Home Depot. It’s the best I
have found but it only goes down to 400.
It has like a plastic film on the backside to
keep water out of the paper when wet
sanding. Using some water in a spray bottle
can keep the sand paper from clogging up.
Polished can be from shiny to an un-distorted
mirror reflection. It’s all hard, nasty, boring,
        work. Have Fun!!!!

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
