HI… I THOUGHT PERHAPS SOME OF YOU FOLKS WELL VERSED IN ANTIQUE OUTBOARDS MAY BE ABLE TO HELP ME. I recently found an old tin can in great condition and still full. its an evinrude outboard oil can evinrude motor co Milwaukee USA. pint size I believe. logo shows 2 persons on a boat on water and some stars around as well. I am a picker and resell items on ebay. I usually do a bit of research to help with describing the item. in this case I was looking for a production date range. I read the history of the company. but I was surprised that not only could I not find another like it on ebay, but I could not find another one the web not even a picture or advertisement for one anywhere on the web. this generally tells me I have a quite rare item. I can provide a picture if its of help. I would appreciate any help I could get. thanks much for your time
jeff elgin ilSeptember 28, 2015 at 4:59 am #24746I believe the Evinrude branded outboard oil was in the Evinrude accessary catalog from the mid 1930s to early 1940s. Previous catalogs recommended Mobiloil. Evinrude brand gear grease was listed through the 1940s.

JeffSeptember 29, 2015 at 4:45 pm #24886Just happened to see an Evinrude tall boy can on Ebay the other nite that was for Johnson/Evinrude/Lawnboy (red, whit,& blue) with Castrol oil as the maker. This was a trademark logo can, but Castrol oil. I seem to remember OMC using something like this for a short while before they came out with their own oil. Caught my eye because it was for water cooled and air cooled engines both from the manufacturer. It came in a quart size bottle also.
