I bought a Q-Tower with a quicky on it down in the 50th Anniversary Meet in Florida.

The cone section does not look the same as the 20H parts list that I have.

On mine the Cone has a sleeve bearing and no ball bearings or seals. It also did not have a separate water pump cover plate.

Does anyone have a parts list for what I have that they can email to dn3557@aol.com?

Thanks in advance for advice and hopefully a parts list.

On a side note, I do know you can make some changes and install the later bearing cone section on those and it will do just fine.

You may choose to use the later style 2 piece assembly, but you should not attempt to torque the nut to the factory recommended 100 ft. lbs. The case will probably crack thru the threads. That original style, sand-cast housing is 3/16 inch shorter front to back, and has about three fewer threads to engage the nut. If you must use a needle bearing cone, a KOYO (Torrington) B-98 may be substituted for the bushing. If you supply heavy grease to it AFTER every use, it will last for an appreciably longer time than the bushing. We used that arrangement for many years while racing the Stock A classes. No shaft or bearing failures. In practice, you can expect the bushings to wear out within a few minutes of initial use. They then harbor abrasive particles of prop shaft chrome plating particles and sand. That stuff wears out the shaft. I much prefer the use of the bare, usealed needle bearing over the bushing. R.T.
