Sure will Scott. Not hard to do, especially if you are going to open up the powerhead anyways. Not a cheap conversion though, if you have to hand buy/pick each part.

Thanks Chris. I know my user name implies I’m rather frugal, which is true however I don’t mind spending good money on something that’s worth it in the long run. Of course I haven’t priced out all the parts yet LOL
July 1, 2016 at 4:26 pm #39368If you go that route, there are a few great guys on here that can sell NOS parts at reasonable prices. Place a wanted ad in the webvertize and they should be able to help you out. I don’t have any rods or bearings left myself.

July 2, 2016 at 7:13 pm #39476Just an added thought to the roller bearing models. Did the later Gale built 10’s get roller bearings, if so what years?
Thanks

July 5, 2016 at 7:48 pm #39644I’ve been working on getting a ’61 Evinrude 10 HP on a ’56 15 HP lower unit. Lots of mix ‘n match but so far so good running in the driveway. Removed the original manifold/reed plate and installed an earlier one so I could use a dual hose tank. New cylinder head gasket, manifold gaskets, base gaskets, and exhaust cover gaskets, flywheel and recoil from ’56-’57 10 horse, swapped out carb needles to accommodate the cover, knobs, etc. A lot of different colors but at least it’s all blue. Have to get it in the water and try it out on the boat next.
