Looking at buying this outboard, and ideas on part availability? History, etc.

I can’t help you, but I have one waiting on the rack,
so I’ll be interested in hearing comments.
Did you Google seach "KS-15 AOMCI" and see
        if there’s old post?

        Prepare to be boarded!

It’s like the KD15 except that it doesn’t have the recoil starter. Use the recommended gas oil mix and it should run. Don’t use enough oil and you will get starting issues. That’s one pint oil to one gallon gas.

Ditto that 8:1 fuel mix. The cranks have a large rotary valve with sealing rings on them which is why I suspect the rich mix.

so the question about part availability is still not answered here
IMO, there are enough , I think it was a very common motor and not so hard to find now.
if you need something ? well, you already found this website and only have to ask.
              good luck

              😉

It was designed in the early 1930s. Early models did not have the sealing rings and used 40 wt. oil. The sealing rings worked so well they use them on the V4 and V6 outboards. I hope this helps. . . 😀

This is generally where to look for problems – Good Luck
