Hi Guys I just acquired this nice little CD-12 Johnson 5 1/2 and decided to tear into it and get it running ! Got the usual stuff done, cleaned the carburetor, new coils and condensers dressed the points and set them ! Did a couple repairs in the cowls (mouse pee damage), now I pulled the powerhead to service the impeller ! When I removed the pump housing, the impeller stuck in it once I got the pin out of the drive shaft and pulled it all the way off I noticed the bore of the impeller was sloppy on the shaft !
The impeller didn’t look in bad shape but it’s definitely wasn’t the correct one for this engine ! It has the 1/2″ bore but the shaft is .429 o.d. In trying to look up the correct impeller but everything I found that said it was for this engine was with the 1/2″ bore ! The serial no. is 1257523 model CD-12 so how do I find the correct impeller ? Thanks
Gary

April 18, 2023 at 7:37 pm #275300As Frank noted, the correct impeller number is now superseded to 434424. The newer total pump kit which includes the impeller, impeller plate, impeller cup, pump housing, gasket, grommet and screws is part #763758.

I resised mine with a hammer and add the s.a. welded .. resealed GC and pressure tested it to 15psi 🙂
