Put an advertisement in the free classifieds section here and you might get lucky. Another option is to keep your eyes open in your local Craigslist for a cheap parts motor. It may take a while but eventually one will show up as they used that same part for many years. They are getting harder to find though.
Yea, those were commonly wore out. If the bearing surface didn’t get chewed up from the shock absorber then the often blew out, when the shock absorber spring grenades out. Ouch. Yes. Quite spendy 😮

When buying one, ensure that the bottom surface isn’t mushroomed or damaged from a blown shock absorber as Zephyr mentioned. Very common to find them damaged.
