This is on CL for sale. I have seen the place on the motor for something to mount at this location,2 partly drilled holes

It’s an adapter for remote steering. The stop button is on it because, with remote controls, the throttle cable goes through the hole in the lower cowl where the stop button would usually mount. If I am not mistaken, the same stainless steering connector with the 1/4 turn pin, as used on earlier OMCs, like Fastwins, will fit right onto that adapter.
