      Was the leather with "silver"ring at base original equipment?If so did all years come with it?

        The early ones did, I think someone is reproing them, but don’t remember for sure… My 1926 has a really good one, think it is original as well..

          I just bought a 1926 model that is un-restored but so clean I assumed the handle had to come with it,but didn’t know for sure.It also had a trolling plate with it.Do you know if they were sold as an accessory by Johnson?

            Tom Thuerwachter makes reproductions of the leather tiller grips. Excellent parts at a reasonable price.
