Does anyone have the canoe bracket Johnson lists as an accessory on the early 20s parts lists.I’d like to see a picture of one.

If you search LL Bean they sell one.
Not difficult to make after you see
one and worth the effort when you
        see their price.

I’m not sure you are talking about the same thing. I think Johnson made a bracket that replaced the transom clamps and was made out of aluminum. I’d love to find one myself.

Speaking of LL Bean’s canoe motor mount, it doesn’t work well on canoes with a plastic gunwale; my brother and I mounted my ’46 Sea King Midget on one after attaching it firmly; he set out and after the 2nd pull on the rope was left holding the rope in 1 hand and watching the ripples on the lake after the mount slipped off and promptly fell overboard! Luckily we were able to find it in about 12′ of water and were able to eventually ‘hook’ it with a roller paint handle duct taped to a fishnet pole. The neighbors at camp had a good laugh watching us. Needless to say, we now have a piece of aluminum angle stock that is bolted through the sides of the canoe. I was able to clean out the Sea King and had it running later that afternoon. 5 May ’15, Schroon Lake, NY

I made this one several years ago.
Had a motor on both sides.
Running both motors at the same time was challenging.
It was fun for awhile but ended up as a Halloween display.
If I still have it I cant tell you where it is.
