Johnson CD-16 Part #s

Guys, thanks for all the help with my inquiry regarding my Johnson CD-16. Based on your responses, I’ll need coils, condensers, thermostat, impeller, lower crank shaft seal, base gasket, and a carburetor rebuild kit.

I don’t have the manual/parts list here. Could someone help me out with the part numbers for the lower crank shaft seal, base gasket, and carburetor rebuild kit?

Hey Steve, Marine Engine has the Parts Diagrams on their website for your motor. http://www.marineengine.com/parts/johns … odel=CD-16

While you have the power head off, replace the ‘o’ ring in the shifter handle, and the ‘o’ ring and cork washer in the carbon seal assembly under the power head. The ‘o’ rings are usually are so degraded that they just crumble when removed.

New fuel/air lines are also a must in my opinion. No one wants a ruptured fuel line spraying gasoline on a hot power head. New lines are cheap insurance against an engine fire.

Also, while you have the flywheel off and the coils out, new wires and boots are also a quick and easy upgrade. All of these things will pay dividends.
