Has anyone rebuilt the carb primer pump assembly for an HA-15 Johnson 2.5hp? I’m working on this last part before reassembly and I cant find a drawing or schematic that shows this particular setup and what parts there are supposed to be. I’m pretty sure someone has torn this down in the past and its missing a piece or it has been reassembled incorrectly as far as the primer pump is concerned. I bought some replacement vitrol seals for it and the diagram that came with the parts doesn’t match with what I actually have. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks MarvK,i have that link and the sheet that came with the replacement vitriol washers. I am missing 1 of the brass washers and the pump was put back together wrong by the previous owner,it didn’t compress at all. I also am not seeing how the substitute vitriol washers that were sent to replace the out of stock leather washers should go onto the plunger. The po butchered this carb from the looks of things, not a screw on it that isn’t destroyed from using too small of a blade when taking the screws out. May be time to walk away for today, tomorrows a new day.

            Will,

Been there and done that with an HD-25 carb. The PO had hammered the brass sleeve into place and it was oval instead of round. No amount of heat/lubrication would get that sucker out; had to drill it out.

Doug Penn will have the brass washers/screws. http://penn.itgo.com/

            Good Luck!

            Steve.
