      Have set points on late 50’s johnsons. Setting points on 1949 HD25, very different hard to tell where to set on cam. Any help appreciated.looks to me that can’t use multimeter method.

        As long as the push rod is not on the cam "flat", I believe your
        okay for setting the points. The manual didn’t say
        anything 50 years ago about using a meter, or other
        method to get the two cylinders to fire exactly 180 degrees apart,
        so I guess I wouldn’t worry about it.
