Is this wire supposed to be here? It goes from ground to ground…

How does the mag look so far? Am I missing anything?

K35 came to me in a box from a friend who wants me to get it running for him.

      TIA

Looks good to me. That ground wire would make Zero sense!

        Prepare to be boarded!

Looks good to me as well. Really clean now. Can’t imagine the reasoning for the wire in question though. If you had the coil out you may have to do some adjustment to the shoes to get them back in alignment. See this mark? There is one on the flywheel as well. When they line up its where you want the points to be just opening.

          Mark

Thank you sir! You saved me asking another inevitable question. Are the points set in pretty much the same way, .020 gap?

            Thank you again

So when you talk about the alignment of the coil shoes, I’m assuming it’s like the universal Magneto? The shoes have to line up to the edge of the boss on the mag plate? Looking at it it would appear that that is probably what you mean? Thank you again

No gaping. You set the points so they are just opening when the 2 marks align. You’ll find that by the time the points are fully open, the hole is pretty much past where you could check the gap.  You may find that when you put the flywheel, on shoes could be rubbing.
